Shaffer Announces Traffic Signal Funding for Marshall Township

HARRISBURG - Rep. Jeremy Shaffer (R-Allegheny) announced today Marshall Township will receive $345,700 in state funding through the Green Light-Go Program to upgrade traffic signal equipment, improve roadway safety and enhance traffic flow throughout the community.

“These investments address real infrastructure needs that impact residents every day,” said Shaffer. “Upgrading traffic signals and improving detection technology will help reduce congestion, make intersections safer and allow drivers, pedestrians and emergency responders to navigate these areas more efficiently. I’m pleased to see funding directed toward improvements that strengthen our communities and improve quality of life for the people who live and work in Marshall Township.”

The funding will support signal operation and detection upgrades at the following intersections throughout Marshall Township:

• Emeryville Drive, Freeport Road and Route 19.
• Sheraton Drive, Freeport Road and Duluth Road.
• Thorn Hill Road and Route 19.
• Thorn Hill Road, Commonwealth Drive and Brush Creek Road.
• Red Belt and Route 19.
• Shenot Road and Route 19.
• Northgate Road and Red Belt.
• Wheatland Road and Red Belt.
• Interstate 79 off ramp and Red Belt.
• Interstate 79 on ramp and Red Belt.
• Innovation Drive and Red Belt.
• Cole Road and Route 910.
• Wexford Run Road and Route 910.
• Mingo Road and Route 910.

Green Light-Go grants provide reimbursements to municipalities for projects that improve the efficiency and operation of existing traffic signals. Eligible improvements include traffic signal upgrades, installation of LED technology, improved detection systems, signal monitoring and other modernization efforts designed to improve safety and traffic management.
