Shaffer Announces More Than $2 Million for Community and School Improvements
July 17, 2026
HARRISBURG – Rep. Jeremy Shaffer (R-Allegheny) today announced more than $2 million for vital improvement projects in the 28th Legislative District through the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP). This funding is designed to enhance local infrastructure and stimulate economic development.
The funding will support the following:
• Township of Pine - $752,120 for the construction of a new parking lot to meet current facility needs and support the planned expansion of the Pine Community Center.
•North Allegheny School District - $1.25 million for an expansion and additions to its indoor swimming facility. Planned upgrades include a separate diving area, increased spectator seating, expanded locker room capacity, and dedicated access that keeps school facilities separate from community-use spaces.
“I’m glad to see this funding come back to our area,” Shaffer said. “The money will support some of the things that make our district so great, which are our schools and community spaces. I was happy to work in a bipartisan way with my Allegheny County colleagues in the House and Senate to help secure this valuable funding.”
RACP is a Commonwealth grant initiative overseen by the Office of the Budget, designed to support projects that contribute to regional economic, cultural, civic and recreational development.
