Shaffer Announces $243,000 Grant for West Deer Township Park Improvements
January 13, 2026
HARRISBURG – Rep. Jeremy Shaffer (R-Allegheny) today announced West Deer Township will receive $243,000 in state grant money for significant upgrades to Bairdford Park. The funding comes through the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) Community Conservation Partnerships Program (C2P2).
The grant will allow for renovations to the parking area, construction of a dek hockey court and pedestrian walkways, installation of utilities, ADA accessibility improvements, landscaping, signage, and other site upgrades.
“Investing in our local parks means investing in the health and well-being of our communities,” Shaffer said. “I was happy to work in a bipartisan manner to secure the funding for Bairdford Park in West Deer Township to provide more outdoor recreational opportunities for families and residents to enjoy for years to come.”
Funding for this round of C2P2 comes from the Keystone Fund, Environmental Stewardship Fund and other funding sources.
